Stunningly different,  Spacious Living,  a real Greece experience,  with Sailing and Chef Dining

You won’t find us in the tourist brochures -  and that’s a shame, because this is the real and idyllic Greece of warm and friendly locals, unspoilt coastline, genuinely local foods and wine – and few tourists, other than Athenians who love to weekend here, many sailing their yacht to the nearby seaside village of Rahes for summer months.

Tiny seaside harbours  (10 minutes away) teeming with busy cafes, bars and tavernas. Rambling hillside villages, ancient hamlets, and miles of hidden coves and beaches. Delicious food, home made wine, and handpicked olives for locally produced olive oil. This is where you can leave the house to walk through olive fields and probably find ancient pottery on the ground, or where you can eat and drink out all night, overlooking an Aegean lit by moonlight. Your holiday home is a rural sanctuary, a spacious country villa, somewhere guests describe as an Oasis, Stunning, and an Amazing Place. You’re a few hundred metres from a rural village, you’re near the beautiful seaside resort of Rahes full of its restaurants, bars, cafes, and ice-cream shops, and you’re in a location ideal for trips to stunning Meteora, ancient Delphi, the island of Evia, and the mountain villages of  Pelion.

We’re a very different type of  property

The Private Entrance into the Villa

A country Villa, built on the grounds of ancient bakeries and stables re-using some of the original walls and windows. Enclosed in private gardens the total area is about 4,000M2, with living space of about 600M2. The el fresco poolside area still retains walling dating back to 400BC, and the rear wall of the villa re-uses parts of the original bakery brickwork.

Private Pool and sun area

Large stone terraces overlook our gardens of lawn and fruit and pine and palm trees. 13 rooms, including 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, a farmhouse style kitchen, a separate dining room and a huge living room that opens up to the gardens and pool areas. Substantial, comfortable living space for 9 (extendable to 13) that’s still spacious, private and peaceful.

We’re surrounded by typical Greek countryside

Miles of olive groves, green, lush and mountainous landscapes, with a marvellously varied coastline of beaches, hard-to-get-to-bays, rugged coves and rocky shorelines. Minor roads winding between olive groves, often made slower with herds of wandering goats. Springs bringing fresh, cool waters from the mountains, with butterflies everywhere.  Vineyards producing wines for local drinking as well as some of the finest bottles exported to Europe. Church bells pealing the start of each day, the smell of freshly-baked bread and ground coffee beans filling the morning air.

Our gardens include lawns and mature trees, including palms, pines, and fruit trees.  The pool and sunbathing area is a beautiful setting for relaxation or a BBQ, or the large garden terraces a wonderfully quiet and peaceful place for reading or contemplation. Wi-fi and Satellite TV, a music centre, DVD’s and books will keep you occupied and within minutes you can be somewhere enjoying the plentiful tastes and sounds of real Greece.

Whether you’re breakfasting on the huge terrace overlooking the gardens (perhaps enjoying fresh morning breads from the local bakery with fresh fruit from our trees) or relaxing in our stunning poolside setting surrounded by walls dating back to 400BC, or preparing a BBQ on the spit, just sipping cocktails from the poolside bar or lounging in the living area, you know you’re just minutes away from beaches and mountains, a host of activities including tennis, horse riding and sailing, and a large choice of local tavernas, cafes, and bars. There’s always somewhere to go, and we can also point you to nearby empty beaches and small coves, or  Delphi or the World Heritage site at magnificent  Meteora, whilst all around you is the unspoilt coastline, beauty and tranquility of real Greece .

An easy drive from all Greece’s main airports, you’ll experience warm and friendly locals, clean seas, few tourists, good food, and a real sense of history and culture.

We’re by a small rural village, in an area well-known for it’s archeological interest (within walking distance are several Roman, Moorish and Venetian sites of interest).

From a local beach at night, towards nearby town

We live nearby, ready to personally welcome you and make sure your stay is as enjoyable as possible. Our staff look after the grounds, pool and gardens daily, and although guests normally stay on a self catered basis, there are plenty of options for upgrades, including  maid service, breakfast, or half-board.

We’re ideally placed for Meteora, Delphi, Evia, Thermopylae and Pelion

All are within easy reach, between 30 minutes and 75 minutes away, so you can combine a relaxing stay with excursions to the most stunning and fascinating ancient sites and some of the loveliest countryside and beaches of Greece.

We provide some very special extras, too

Private sailing on a yacht for one or more days sailing, or gourmet Greek cuisine from a local Chef eaten poolside under candlelight  -  often followed by bouzouki dancing for all! See here.

Our beautiful location is a wonderful surprise for those who traditionally think of Greece as a barren and harsh landscape scorched by the sun bouncing off white cubist homes. Instead you’ll experience the beauty of a typically wild and lovely landscape of lush, green – covered, hills and mountains, an idyllic coastline, country villas and houses set in olive groves, and by tiny villages and fishing hamlets – a complex visual feast that engulfs the senses with a gentle intensity.
